Brooklands

Located in Weybridge, Surrey in the United Kingdom, Brooklands is one of the oldest ovals to have been built. Dating back to 1907 and constructed under the watchful eye of Hugh Locke-King, the oval soon became a haven for world speed record attempts as well as races. Soon after the second world war broke out, the military took over the circuit and ripped up much of the surface as they used the area as a base for operations. After the war had ended the circuit became known for its aircraft facilities rather than racing and motor sport never really returned. Now, the circuit has become a museum, dedicated to keeping the memory of former racers and their cars alive. Some of the banked track is still in existence.
